My work is about searching, investigation, and reinventing.
My process is highly intuitive and involves working and reworking surfaces, informing the work with a sense of history.
The evidence of process is clearly visible and the act of process is an integral part of the piece. I am working in a loose grid format combining the detritus of everyday life. The works are made with mixed media including paint, graphite, thread, photos, Xeroxes, cloth, newspaper clippings, oil sticks and found objects both organic and man made. I think of them as the flotsam and jetsam of everyday life. My methods of working are as varied as the materials. I am painting, drawing, stenciling, sewing, printing, collaging. The works are like quilts, blankets, maps and open books.
