Meet Kitty

Hey there, I'm Kitty Winslow, the queer chaos demon with a PhD in feelings and murder plots who's responsible for keeping you up way too late turning pages.

I've always been scribbling stories in the margins of my life, but recently decided it was time to drag those dark little tales into the light. After years of writing for myself, I'm now publishing short stories in literary magazines and developing my first full-length psychological thriller series, Secrets of Stillwater.

My stories delve into the shadows where psychological terror meets forbidden desire. I'm obsessed with small towns where facades crack to reveal the rot beneath, characters haunted by fractured memories, and relationships that blur the line between salvation and destruction. If unreliable narrators, queer experiences, and psychological fingerprints that linger long after the final page are your thing, welcome home.

When I'm not torturing fictional characters, I'm spilling all the messy details on "The Dirty Draft" blog, where I share everything from deleted spicy scenes to behind-the-scenes glimpses of my creative process—mistakes and all. Think of it as the director's commentary track for my writing journey, except with more cursing and occasional existential breakdowns over plot holes.

I also host the "Foreplay & First Drafts" podcast, where I dive into the craft of building psychological worlds, developing characters with wounds worth exploring, and balancing spine-tingling suspense with heart-racing romance. It's less like a writing lecture and more like a late-night conversation with your slightly unhinged friend who overthinks everything (in the best possible way).

My writing journey is still evolving, and I'm learning new techniques with every page. If you're into watching someone figure out how to weave psychological complexity with queer experiences in real-time—complete with all the messy drafts, creative breakthroughs, and occasional "what was I thinking" moments—you're in exactly the right place.

So grab your favorite drink (I recommend something strong), get comfortable, and join me as we explore the delicious darkness where memory fractures, desire destroys, and some secrets are worth dying to protect.

The water's fine. Promise.

(Well, maybe not in Stillwater. Those waters run deep.)
